Solidarité Sans Frontières is a participatory crowdfunding platform built to democratise access to funding for initiatives working toward a fairer, more solidary world. Donors discover and back humanitarian and sustainable-development projects, while founders can submit a digital idea and have it incubated into a real product. It runs in production at solidaritessf.fr.

The brief

The association wanted a trustworthy home for two things at once: raising money for on-the-ground humanitarian projects (school construction, well drilling, equipping health centres), and an incubation programme that turns promising digital ideas into launched products. The platform had to feel credible to donors, be simple for non-technical founders, and handle real money securely.

Crowdfunding & donations

  • Discover active humanitarian and sustainable-development campaigns and support them directly.
  • Secure card payments through Stripe, with transparency on how funds are used and direct impact tracking.
  • Account registration and login for donors and project owners, plus a newsletter to keep supporters informed of new campaigns.

The digital incubation programme

Founders submit a digital idea — an app, website or AI project. The platform runs an AI pass that analyses and rewrites the concept into a professional proposal. The strongest three to four projects each cycle receive end-to-end support: development, MVP creation, company formation and launch — so a raw idea becomes a live business rather than a slide.

Trust & partners

Credibility is front and centre: institutional partners such as the Gironde Department and the town of Bazas are showcased alongside Trustpilot certification, and regulatory-compliance details are made explicit for donors.

Under the hood

The platform is a custom Next.js app (App Router, TypeScript) with a PostgreSQL database via Prisma and a Tailwind CSS interface. Payments run on Stripe, the incubation flow is powered by an AI proposal engine, and the experience is multilingual via next-intl. Unlike a template CMS, everything — campaigns, donations, submissions and the admin dashboard — is purpose-built.

Result

A single platform that both funds humanitarian work and manufactures new digital ventures — pairing a transparent, Stripe-backed donation experience with an AI-assisted incubator, wrapped in a design that earns donor trust.
